Just a Girl

Some days it's rough to be a girl (especially when you're Mommy makes your wear bows)...

Crazy Hair

Benson and I got bored on Thursday while we were waiting for Daddy to come home, so we decided to give him "crazy hair." By the time Daddy got home (about 45 minutes later), the mohawk had turned into a glorified cowlick because Benson had been running around so much.

Story Time

Benson wanted to read to Brynn in the big chair this afternoon, but apparently Brynn didn't like the book that Benson picked out to read her:

Life at the Sparrow House

Tonight Brynn was our entertainment at dinner. Mark and Benson decided that she should balance cds on her head. Benson thought it was hilarious. Brynn was not so sure.

Benson tried balancing too:

Tonight was also Benson's first night to eat peanut butter. The pediatrician told me that to prevent peanut allergies in children, it is a good idea to avoid peanuts when they are babies. I thought that he said no peanuts until 3 years of age. When we went to his two year check-up, I found out it was actually only until 1 year. Oops. I guess my constant nagging for Mark not to give Benson peanuts for the past year and 3 months was basically pointless.

The Scriptures according to Mark

Benson and Daddy look through a book with church pictures every night after they read scriptures. Tonight Brynn fell asleep before they were finished, so I got to see exactly what goes on. Benson can name all of the prophets- some by first name only, but I still think it's pretty impressive. He especially likes Lorenzo Snow and calls him "Borenzo." (Mark says they're working on his "L's.")

They also talk about what is happening in the pictures. In this one, Jesus is telling his disciples, "Hey, nice boat."

Missionaries are "fancy guys-" I assume because they wear suits and ties.

Here Samuel the Lamanite is saying, "Be good," and the people are saying, "We're going to get you."

Brynn at 2 Months

I actually took this picture when Brynn had just turned two months old, but I'm slow posting it. At her 8 week check-up, Brynn was 23 1/2 inches and weighed 14 pounds, 3 ounces. She's in the 90th percentile for height and the 97th for weight. Mark says she's going to be a shot putter.

She's also starting to coo and babble a lot, and she smiles more. Cindy and Mark have decided that she likes basketball because she is very attentive when it's on tv.

When I was taking pictures of Brynn, Benson wanted to get in on the action. He loves her so much. If we can just keep him from squishing her, I think they will be good friends.

Pop Quiz

I'm going to copy Bitsy and do a little pop quiz. Which picture do you think is Benson and which is Brynn? (I'm enabling comments on my blog so you can answer- hopefully the spam comments won't completely take over again!)

Bumbo

Brynn tried out the Bumbo this morning. Isn't she so cute in her little snow suit?

A good night

I am taking classes on Monday nights this semester, which means that Mark has both kids for almost 4 hours. Two weeks ago didn't go so well- apparently Brynn woke up right after I left and didn't like the bottle Daddy was using, so she was extremely grumpy and tired by the time I got home. When I walked through the door this week, I was bracing myself for the worst. Instead, I saw this:

Apparently Brynn liked the new bottle I got her, and she really liked being carried around in the Daddy backpack. Both kids were as happy as could be, and Mark and Benson had cleaned up the whole house. What a sweet husband I have.

Once there was a snowman

The weather here has been crazy. Last Friday it snowed a ton, and today we had a mini-monsoon. On Saturday Benson and Daddy made Benson's first snowman. We colored Nilla wafers for the mouth and eyes and decided he needed a cowboy hat. Benson loved him and goes over to check out what's left of him (a tiny pile of snow) every time we go outside.
